Overseasidol.com — Taiwanese actor and singer Prince Chiu has admitted to purchasing a fake medical record in an attempt to evade mandatory military service, as part of an ongoing investigation involving multiple celebrities.
On April 1, Prince Chiu was taken into custody from his residence in Nangang by police and brought in for questioning.
During the interrogation, he confessed to paying approximately NT$330,000 for a falsified medical document indicating high blood pressure, which was allegedly used to avoid conscription.
However, he did not disclose the identity of the intermediary who facilitated the arrangement.
Following several hours of questioning, he was transferred to the New Taipei District Prosecutors Office for further investigation.
Prosecutors later determined that he may have violated laws related to military service obligations and granted him bail set at NT$500,000.
This case is part of a broader probe into alleged draft evasion practices among public figures.
Several well-known names, including Darren Wang, Chen Bolin, and Hsiu Jie Kai, have also reportedly been linked to the investigation.
Authorities have conducted multiple rounds of searches as they attempt to uncover a wider network involved in producing fraudulent medical records.
Other members of the group Lollipop (Bang Bang Tang) were previously implicated and released on bail with varying amounts.
