Overseasidol.com — On June 7, the grand finale of the Chinese reality show “Sisters Who Make Waves 2025” (also known as “Riding the Wind 2025”) unfolded dramatically on the stunning grasslands of Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia.
In a record-breaking moment, legendary actress Ye Tong, aged 62, was crowned the season’s overall champion, becoming the oldest contestant ever to claim the title.
The announcement drew explosive cheers from the audience, celebrating a historic victory.
Cecilia Yip, a beloved figure in Chinese entertainment with over 40 years of acting experience, captivated viewers not only with her stage presence but also with her unwavering commitment throughout the competition.
“Looking back on my decades in this industry, I still hold onto the courage to explore.
With that same spirit, I’ll continue to shine both on screen and on the stage of life, sailing bravely with the wind,” she said.
Amid the celebrations, the inclusion of Patty Hou in the final debut lineup stirred considerable controversy online.
While she secured a spot in the final group, many viewers criticized her performance, accusing her of lacking effort during her dance routines.
The term “Hua Shui”, a slang expression meaning to slack off or put in minimal effort, quickly surfaced across social media in response to her stage presence.
Joining Ye Tong and Wang Luodan, who was named team leader of the year, the final debut group consists of Wu Xuanyi, Li Sheng, Patty Hou, Guan Le, Song Yanfei, Zhang Xiaowan, Zhu Xudan, and Luo Yutong.
Notably, veteran actress Chen Derong and Li Yitong, a former of SNH48, considered a strong contender, was absent from the final lineup.
