Overseasidol.com — Nagoya-based idol group SKE48 and Aichi-born singer-songwriter Miyu have been officially appointed as “Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Supporters” for the 20th Asian Games and the 5th Asian Para Games, both scheduled to take place in 2026.
The appointment was announced on September 12 by the organizing committee of the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games and Asian Para Games.
The 20th Asian Games will be held from September 19 to October 4, 2026, while the 5th Asian Para Games will run from October 18 to 24, 2026, mainly in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture.
The Asian Games will feature 41 sports, including swimming, athletics, and baseball/softball, while the Asian Para Games will highlight 19 sports such as boccia and wheelchair rugby.
As official supporters, SKE48 and Miyu will help promote the games through daily activities, social media, and official publications, aiming to boost excitement and public engagement ahead of the events.
SKE48 captain Chikako Matsumoto expressed her excitement, saying, “It’s an honor that this historic tournament will be held here in Aichi and Nagoya, our hometown. We want to share the emotions that sports bring and cheer together with everyone!,”.
Singer-songwriter Miyu added, “I’m truly looking forward to supporting such a big tournament being held in my hometown of Aichi and Nagoya,”.
