Overseasidol.com — Japanese idol group SKE48 has officially entered a new chapter in its career.

Starting April 1, the group is now managed under a newly established company, SKE Co., Ltd, following its separation from Zest Inc., a subsidiary of KeyHolder Inc..

This organizational restructuring is part of a broader strategy to strengthen SKE48’s brand identity and business direction.

KeyHolder CEO Yuji Oide stated that the main goal is to focus resources entirely on SKE48 and accelerate its growth.

Previously, the group’s profits were shared across multiple business units, which limited investment opportunities.

With a dedicated company, decision-making processes are expected to become faster and more efficient.

The new company is led by Kenji Kitagawa and Takeshi Oyama.

Kitagawa brings extensive experience from working with the 48 Group, while Oyama offers a unique perspective as a long-time fan who deeply understands the group’s history and fan culture.

Kitagawa highlighted SKE48’s strong energy, both from its members and fanbase.

Moving forward, the management plans to introduce new strategies to attract a broader audience, particularly female fans.

He noted that groups like AKB48 have successfully expanded their female fanbase, which has significantly boosted their visibility and appeal.

Meanwhile, Oyama expressed his surprise and honor at joining the management team, recalling his past as an active fan attending SKE48 events.
