Overseasidol.com — Chinese actress Zhao Qing became a hot topic after her appearance on the red carpet at the “Screaming Night” event on December 6.
Her noticeably slimmer figure sparked online discussions, sending the phrase “Zhao Qing looks paper-thin” trending across social platforms.
On December 7, renowned producer Yu Zheng issued a public statement addressing the rising concern.
He emphasized that being thin has never been a valid standard for judging an artist’s professionalism or worth. According to Yu Zheng, Zhao Qing’s weight is not as low as circulating rumors suggest.
“She used to weigh 95 jin, and she is still in the 90s. What she lost was fat, not overall body mass,” he clarified.
Yu Zheng explained that Zhao Qing is currently preparing for her role in the upcoming drama Jinwu Bujin, which requires numerous physically demanding action scenes.
This preparation includes more than six hours of training every day, resulting in increased muscle mass and reduced fat.
“With such an intense training schedule, it’s impossible for her not to eat. The body needs proper fuel. A balanced intake of vegetables, protein, healthy fats, and carbohydrates is essential for maintaining health,” he said.
He urged the public to stop associating extreme thinness with beauty or professionalism.
“I suffered for years due to ignorance about health. I hope everyone starts exercising and prioritizing a healthy lifestyle. Health should always come first,” Yu Zheng added.
The discussion surrounding Zhao Qing’s weight has reignited broader conversations about unrealistic beauty standards in the Chinese entertainment industry.
