Japanese idol group ≠ME (Not Equal Me) has officially announced a new member audition.
The group offering aspiring female performers the opportunity to join one of Japan’s popular idol groups.
According to the official announcement, the audition is open to women aged 12 to 24 years old as of June 26, 2026.
Eligible applicants must have been born between June 27, 2001, and June 26, 2014.
The audition welcomes applicants of all nationalities, provided they can communicate in Japanese in everyday situations.
Previous experience in the entertainment industry is not required, making the audition accessible to newcomers as well as aspiring talents with no professional background.
Applications must be submitted individually, as group or unit entries will not be accepted.
Applicants must not currently be signed with any entertainment agency or modeling agency.
Those under the age of 18 must obtain parental or guardian consent before participating in the audition process.
Participants are also required to agree to appear on television, online platforms, and other media during the selection process.
Successful candidates must be willing to relocate to Tokyo, sign an exclusive contract with Yoyogi Animation Academy, and begin activities based in the Japanese capital.
