Overseasidol.com — Karaoke company JOYSOUND has announced the results of its latest survey, the “Idol Song Karaoke Ranking”, on August 25, 2025.
The ranking highlights the most popular idol songs across the Showa, Heisei, and Reiwa eras.
In the Heisei category, legendary idol group AKB48 dominated the chart.
The Heisei era was a period in Japanese history that coincided with the reign of Emperor Akihito, beginning on January 8, 1989, and ending on April 30, 2019.
Their hit “365 Nichi no Kamihikouki” ranked first, followed by “Koisuru Fortune Cookie” in second place, and “Heavy Rotation” in third.
This strong showing proves that AKB48’s songs remain timeless favorites, continuing to be sung passionately in karaoke rooms across Japan.
For the Showa era, Seiko Matsuda’s “Akai Sweet Pea” claimed the top spot.
Meanwhile, in the Reiwa era, CUTIE STREET took first place with “Kawaii Dake Ja Dame Desu Ka?”.
These results reinforce AKB48’s legacy as the defining idol group of the Heisei era.
Their music not only shaped a generation but also remains alive and celebrated in karaoke culture today.
