Overseasidol.com — Chinese pop singer Zeng Yi has sparked controversy after being spotted wearing a watch with an inappropriate design during a recent rehearsal.
The watch’s dial reportedly featured an image that some netizens interpreted as sexually suggestive.
Zeng Yi responded to the backlash via social media, explaining that the watch was a gift from a friend.
“I thought it was a Rolex. Sorry for the embarrassment,” he wrote.
However, when journalists visited an official Rolex store on June 14 and showed a photo of the watch to staff, they denied any affiliation with the model, suggesting it was a modified piece.
Adding fuel to the public’s concerns, Zeng Yi’s past comments resurfaced. In a previous show, he admitted to kicking a female staff member during a moment of anger.
“She got in my way, and I lost it,” he said, before apologizing on the show.
The incident has reignited discussions around celebrity behavior and accountability.
