Overseasidol.com — Taiwanese actor, Darren Wang, who is currently serving his mandatory military service, has become the center of public attention following controversies involving allegations of draft evasion and instigating assault.
On May 4, Wang’s studio issued a formal statement through a law firm, firmly denying widespread online rumors suggesting that he was involved in criminal activities such as “inciting violence”, “attempted murder,” or having ties to organized crime.
According to the statement, the incident involving an altercation with an Uber driver had already been resolved through a private reconciliation.
The driver has officially withdrawn his complaint, and the prosecution decided not to pursue charges against Wang for that particular matter.
However, speculative reports and edited narratives continue to circulate online, prompting Wang’s legal team to take action.
They reiterated that the actor has no connections to criminal organizations and rejected all claims of violent or unlawful behavior.
The statement also included an apology from Wang, acknowledging poor communication during the car ride that led to a verbal dispute.
Wang expressed regret over his inappropriate words and emphasized his willingness to take full responsibility.
His team also expressed concern over the negative influence the incident may have had on the public and reaffirmed their commitment to holding those who spread misinformation accountable through legal channels.
