Overseasidol.com — Chinese twin idols Liang Jiao and Liang Qiao have officially announced their departure from GNZ48.
The former Girls Planet 999 trainees announced the termination of their contracts with Siba Media on April 25, 2026.
Alongside the announcement, both revealed that they have initiated legal proceedings over a contract dispute with the company.
According to their statement, the conflict stems from differing interpretations of the contract duration.
The company reportedly insists on a 10-year agreement, while Liang Jiao and Liang Qiao claim they were verbally informed at the time of signing in March 2018 that the contract would last only eight years, ending in March 2026.
Following their departure, the duo confirmed that they have not yet signed with a new agency and intend to pursue independent careers moving forward.
This decision represents a major turning point after years of activity in the idol industry.
In her detailed explanation, Liang Jiao highlighted long-standing challenges within their professional environment.
She described feeling emotionally drained due to intense workloads that did not translate into a sense of achievement.
Limited access to original performance resources and insufficient career support were also cited as key concerns.
Additionally, stagnation in annual ranking results over the past few years contributed to growing frustration, despite continuous effort and dedication.
