Overseasidol.com — On July 18, Chinese boy group X NINE officially announced their disbandment via social media.
In their statement, they wrote, “The burning times have shaped the best of youths. Nine years as X Nine, Be A Man. X NINE wishes you happiness every day!,”.
Following the announcement, all members Xiao Zhan, Zhao Lei, Xia Zhiguang, Peng Chuyue, Wu Jiacheng, Gu Jiacheng, Guo Zifan, and Yan Xujia, removed the “X NIN” prefix from their social media accounts, signifying the group’s official end.
This group was formed in 2016 through Zhejiang TV’s talent and reality program “Burning Youth”.
Out of 16 contestants, nine were chosen: Zhao Lei, Chen Zexi, Xia Zhiguang, Peng Chuyue, Wu Jiacheng, Gu Jiacheng, Guo Zifan, Xiao Zhan, and Yan Xujia.
The “X” in the group’s name symbolized the unknown and limitless possibilities.
In September 2020, Chen Zexi officially departed from the group to focus on rap and fashion pursuits.
Now, after nearly a decade together, X NINE has officially come to an end.
The disbandment marks an emotional moment for fans who have supported them since their debut.
X NINE was widely recognized for their upbeat pop music, dynamic performances, and for propelling members like Xiao Zhan into major stardom across China and beyond.
