Overseasidol.com — Thai actress Anne Thongprasom, Lingling Siriak, and Channel 3 executive Dew have unexpectedly found themselves at the center of a controversy after a casual dining video was deliberately misinterpreted by a Cambodian influencer.
The video, taken at a Japanese restaurant, shows the trio enjoying a dish presented with dry ice effects, a common culinary feature.
However, the footage was maliciously twisted by the influencer, who claimed it mocked alleged “toxic gas attacks” rumored online between Thailand and Cambodia.
Although completely baseless, the claim went viral in Cambodian social media circles, sparking a wave of backlash and hateful comments toward the three public figures.
In response, Lingling’s fanbase was the first to step up. They issued a public clarification and urged fans to report the misleading content.
Supporters have also begun gathering evidence to assist the agency in possible legal proceedings.
As of now, none of the involved celebrities have released an official statement.
Still, their fan communities are taking firm action to counter the misinformation and protect their names.
