Overseasidol.com — Several internet users have reported that Chinese actor Yu Menglong’s Douyin account can no longer be found through the platform’s search feature, either by his name or account ID.
Users who are not followers can only access the account by scanning a shared profile QR code.
A local media test conducted on the evening of November 25 confirmed that the account does not appear in search results. However, the profile remains visible when accessed via the QR code.
The comment section has also been restricted, allowing only mutual followers to leave comments, while options to like, save, and share videos are still enabled.
Douyin’s customer service stated that the platform does not manage or deactivate accounts of deceased users.
The inability to locate the account through search is likely due to privacy settings that limit visibility to non-followers.
The platform also noted that it would document and review the specific situation of Yu Menglong’s account.
As of 9:00 PM on November 25, Yu Menglong’s Douyin account reportedly had approximately 3.25 million followers.
Previously, Yu Menglong was reported to have passed away on September 11, 2025, following a fatal fall in Beijing.
In a statement released days later, his mother asked the public to stop speculation and respect the family’s privacy, emphasizing that the incident should be viewed calmly and without unfounded assumptions.
