The Lingling District People’s Court in Yongzhou, Hunan, has announced the latest development in the defamation dispute involving Du Meizhu and her former fan, known as “Zhu Jie.”

According to an official notice released on June 15, the court initiated compulsory enforcement proceedings after Du Meizhu failed to fulfill obligations outlined in a previous ruling.

The case entered the enforcement stage in April 2026 after Zhu Jie filed a request with the court.

The financial compensation ordered by the court, totaling 2,189 yuan, has now been fully paid.

However, the court stated that Du has yet to comply with the non-financial requirement of the ruling, which requires her to publish a written public apology across multiple online platforms.

Following communication with the court, Du Meizhu reportedly removed the related content from her Bilibili account.

Despite this action, she allegedly refused to issue the required public apology.

As a result, the court decided to publicly release the judgment to help eliminate the negative impact on Zhu Jie and restore her reputation.

Speaking to local media on June 16, Zhu Jie said she had once sincerely supported Du Meizhu during difficult times but felt that her kindness had not been reciprocated.

She also expressed gratitude to the judicial authorities for upholding fairness and helping restore her reputation despite Du Meizhu’s refusal to comply fully with the court’s decision. (Overseasidol.com)
