Overseasidol.com — The highly anticipated historical martial arts drama “The Journey of Legend” has become the center of controversy due to repeated delays in its broadcast schedule.
On June 5, several consumers filed formal complaints, accusing the streaming platform of deceptive practices and demanding refunds after the drama failed to air as previously promised.
According to statements from the complainants, the platform had promoted the series during a commercial presentation in 2024, indicating that “The Journey of Legend” would officially premiere in Q2 of 2025, between April and June.
Motivated by their support for the actors and the show, many fans spent significant amounts purchasing “diamonds,” a premium in-app currency, to prepare for exclusive viewing access and online fan events.
However, with June already underway and no official schedule announcement in sight, fans have grown increasingly frustrated.
Customer service reportedly confirmed that there are no plans to air the series in the near future, prompting fans to allege that the platform misled consumers into spending money based on a promise it failed to fulfill.
Some individuals claim to have spent between 2,000 to 3,000 yuan (approximately $275–$415 USD), and are now seeking full refunds.
The platform’s diamond purchase terms, however, clearly state that such purchases are non-refundable under any circumstances.
While rumors are circulating that “The Journey of Legend” may be scheduled for a late-June premiere as part of the summer lineup, no official confirmation has been made by the producers or the platform, fueling ongoing discontent.
