Overseasidol.com — Thai singer Peck Palitchoke suffered a serious facial injury after being stabbed at a gas station in Bangkok in the early hours of the morning.
The shocking incident has stunned fans and shaken the Thai entertainment industry.
The suspect, identified as Chutitep, did not flee the scene but surrendered immediately.
A 20 cm-long knife was found on him, and police took him into custody for further investigation.
Chutitep later voluntarily gave his statement at the police station and apologized publicly to the media.
He insisted the attack was not premeditated, calling it a “misunderstanding and an act of self-defense taken too far,”.
He admitted fault and said he was ready to accept legal responsibility.
According to Chutitep, he was riding his motorbike to pick up his girlfriend from work when he passed by the gas station and saw a man shouting and jumping on a car hood.
Believing a fight was breaking out, he approached to intervene.
Suddenly, the man later identified as Peck Palitchoke rushed toward him, prompting Chutitep to instinctively swing his knife in defense, accidentally cutting Peck’s chin.
He said he only realized the man was the famous singer Peck Palitchoke after police arrived.
Deeply regretful, he apologized and expressed his willingness to take responsibility.
Chutitep explained that, as a night-time delivery driver, he had previously been attacked while working.
That experience led him to carry a knife for personal protection.
Police have charged him with “intentional assault” and “illegal possession of a weapon”.
The case is pending further developments and will proceed once Peck recovers.
If the injury is classified as “serious bodily harm,” the suspect could face more severe penalties.
