On April 16, Shanghai Siba Culture Media Group officially confirmed that its founder and president had died on April 14 at 7:00 PM in Shanghai due to a sudden heart-related illness.
Following the announcement, members and former members of SNH48 and its sister groups took to social media to express their grief.

One of the most emotional messages came from Zhang Yuge, who reflected on the opportunity Wang gave her to step onto the stage.
She credited him for helping prove that an all-female idol group could thrive and gain recognition in a competitive industry.
She also recalled his advice encouraging her to be more outgoing, a lesson she continues to carry with her.
“As a former member of Siba, I will never forget the training and guidance I received during my time here. I am deeply grateful for your kindness, and may you find peace in the afterlife,” Huang Tingting wrote.
Former members, including Chen Wenyuan and Sun Xinwen, also expressed gratitude for the chance to pursue their dreams under his guidance.
Meanwhile, former SHY48 member Fu Ziqi remembered him as a supportive figure who played an important role in her growth.
Members from sister groups like GNZ48, including Liang Qiao and Liang Jiao, also shared their condolences, wishing him peace.
